API Subcommittee Moving Forward with Alternative Plans
Since resolution and termination of the API development contract with MicroEdge, the API Subcommittee has been working aggressively to develop and implement alternative approaches that will enable TSC investors to begin exchanging data between MicroEdge systems and other systems. To that end, TSC and API Subcommittee representatives met with representatives from TSC preferred products in Chicago on July 27 to discuss requirements for an "open data bridge" that will achieve this goal. All of the providers present pledging their collective wisdom toward its achievement.
The API Subcommittee then met at the Community Foundation of Louisville on August 2 to review a proposed approach and technical methodology for developing the data bridge within the budget approved for the third year of the TSC. The API Subcommittee's recommendation to proceed with the plan will be reviewed by the TSC Executive Committee the week of August 8. If approved, the TSC will proceed with discovery and negotiation of the full contract. The project is expected to enter beta testing in four months with full delivery slated for six months. Additional information will be made available as it develops.
In addition to overseeing the development of these alternative APIs, the API Subcommittee will also spend the next quarter helping to guide community foundations proactively addressing the legal aspects of opening their data and systems to other TSC preferred products.
TSC Solution Summit Focusing on Integrated Solutions Rescheduled for November 2-3
The schedule for this final summit to be held in Chicago on November 2-3 has been amended to include an in-depth focus on integrated solutions (those which include accounting) that are being considered by the TSC Integrated Solutions Subcommittee. Day Two is being offered as a stand-alone for those wanting to gain an in-depth understanding of integrated solution offerings, API's and migration considerations.
