Designing the Must-Have Web Site

You need a Web site.  Whether your board or your budget agrees or disagrees, it’s the single most effective outreach tool a foundation can have.  And it’s likely one of the most cost-effective.  If your foundation doesn’t have a Web presence, or if you just have a bad site, you are losing potential donors, volunteers, and press opportunities. A Web site done well offers users an informational interview with you — but on their terms and on their turf.  Additionally, the more information you can shift online, the less staff time you will spend answering simple questions and providing resources that can be shifted to the Web.  See sidebars for more facts and tips...
